SINOPSIS

Remake del clásico de 1971 dirigido por Sam Peckinpah. El guionista de Hollywood David Sumner y su mujer Amy se mudan al pueblo natal de ésta en el sureste de Estados Unidos, después de la muerte del padre de Amy. Su plan es reparar y vender la casa de la familia mientras que David aprovecha la tranquilidad del lugar para terminar el guion en el que está trabajando. Pero no todo es tan bucólico como parece en Blackwater (Mississippi) y la llegada de los Sumner despierta antiguos resentimientos. Además, la pareja pasa por una crisis y la tensión va haciendo mella en su matrimonio, al tiempo que surgen viejos conflictos con algunos habitantes, sobre todo con el ex novio de Amy, Charlie, quien junto con sus amigos del pueblo acaba cruzando los límites de la tolerancia de David y del matrimonio Sumner...
